The ladies of ABC’s pop culture staple The View have never been shy about sharing their view on politics, religion, relationships and entertainment. There seems to always be some kind of headline or soundbite circling it’s way through the media. But the more I did my research on these outspoken ladies, the more I realized that none of them have done a recent in-depth, sit down interview to share their story and how their world view came to exist.
Emmy award-winner Sherri Shepherd has made her share of headlines on The View with her outrageous comedy and her unabashed honesty. However, she is involved in many aspects of show business. An accomplished actress and comedienne, Shepherd hosts GSN’s The Newlywed Game and wrote, “Permission Slips: Every Woman’s Guide to Giving Herself a Break,” while maintaining her recurring role as Angie Jordan, wife to Tracey Morgan’s character on NBC’s 30 Rock, and was also in the acclaimed film Precious, alongside Academy Award winner Mo’Nique. But behind the comedy, Shepherd has an amazing story to tell.
Without giving too much away, Sherri Shepherd gave me an unprecedented exclusive into her past and the pain along the way that helped bring her to her current level of success. She shares about growing up as a Jehovah’s Witness, becoming a born again Christian, her career highs and lows and openly discusses finding healing from her “many” abortions as a teenager. Her simple message of love, forgiveness, and freedom throughout life’s trials makes this must-see interview both extraordinary and powerful.
Sherri Shepherd is more than the soundbites you see on The View. She’s open, honest, real and is a reminder that behind all the Hollywood make-up and hair, she’s just like you and me: a work in progress. It doesn’t get any better than that.

Amazing, beautiful and touching. Moved me to tears.

I watched it ( a bit late-sorry- cause the Josh´s B-Day was on my mind) and first I said me:”No, Dheniss, please, let your polemist way and only write I LIKE THIS INTERVIEW”.But late, my thought was other.
This interview is a few of deep human feelings, and it was the point of my controversy. This last times I´d learned is better to shut my mouth; and it wasn`t one problem respect other persons; it was part of myself, and the things around me.
All my life the controversy was how it suppose to be. My parents teached me to be closed, to understand to the peoples more than me; to use the mind for excuse to the peoples and their acts (my parents are the most wonderful peoples of all, really).I´m not good, I grow-up with this (in words of my friend Clara) philantropic thought, not cause I see me like 1 good human, only cause it`s the correct. I`d the opportunity to open my eyes in a young age only cause my parents made the diference for me; but many peoples around me hasn´t this oportunity, and I can`t take it off of my mind. This is the explain to this woman a bit diffident, a bit empty.
This laaaaaarge weeks all this human feelings was turbied into me. This 80`s child grow-up with the concept of bipolar world:rich Vs. Poor-USA Vs. URSS- Argentina Vs. England…my parents aren`t comunist, but their desire was one “Che Guevara Girl”. I never felt in this way cause for me the world is a side more complex than 2 parts. No doubt, if you ask me what do I think about Liberalist system, sure that I´ll say:”It`s unjust”, but I dont believe Dheniss can to live without it. Is it 1 contradition?, perhaps; cause for the peoples it makes me seem like 1 socialist and 1 imperialist in the same moment. My friend (friend or ex-friend?)saies me:”You`re all time talk bout of this yankee named Josh Skinner, you write in english, you sold out”;and in the same time, I know, my tweets are impressed of comments like “ Some people in my country hadn`t eating” and it sounds like “Stop the party!” I know, dont exit 1 bipolar world, i´m the bipolar, ha!.In real, I believe our world is more than 1 few of “against” or I want to believe it. In 1 politic example(yeah! i said:”no more politic”, but it`s necessary to the comment now):here, in South America when the peoples must to talk bout the central countries, sure that peoples say:”this countries are imperialist and this peoples want to take all our wealth”, and perhaps if you would talk with the people of the other side of the world bout us they would say:”this latins want to make disturbied with their explosive way”.Is one pain, but this 2 thoughts exist on the mind of many peoples who catalogue, who defend 1 idiot discurse bout how the world must to be. And happen with the religion, and many aspects. But not all peoples think in this way.
Sometimes I feel that I dont belong to no-one part. What`s the reason to open your heart if you would hurt or be hurt?. It mades me feel annoying (yeah, @cartersucre, I turn me like Tommy Merlotte in this days!!!!)But late I felt blue, SO blue. And I thought:How can I do to stand near of cool peoples if I´m so blue? Sure (not A-zure!) that I´ll infect them with my blue & social comments. Why let I out my thoughts and stain their happy moments? So what I said:”Well Dheniss, go out!”. I said:”No more religion; no more politics”. But this week changed it…
…3 things changed my way. First: I listened to one father who saies:”think in the more happy moments of this times; and think in the time where you betrayed to God and to yourself”. I took his words and I discovered that if I dont express my feelings and my ideas I am not myself, but in the same moment, I didn`t know if be loyal to myself would be good to peoples who make me happy.
The second situation: In the Josh`s B-Day I went to the Doctor (he`s so cool and we talked `bout my recently physical problem and respect the life), he saies me 2 trues: “We are the things that we project respect ourself and the happiness isn`t in the same proportion respect the sadness, but it`s the life, and it`s the duel.Search the things that you love”.
So what it lets me understand the last situation:out of the clinic (and with my legal drugs in my hand!) I finished with my due. My idea was write to Josh for his B-Day, but I didn`t want write him and stain with my awful presence his day like I always do.He`s so funnny, wonderful and cool with me, isnt just to destroyed his day in this way-I thought-, cause although I want to be cool, I´ve a bit sadness in my comments ever and he deserves only happy things. But late, I understood it was more than me, it was about something important for him, cause although my presence wasn`t the important to make the diference in his day, I know how important his b-day was for him.And I´m 1 imperfect people, I know, but I felt the needless to be part in some way cause it was important to me too.So what, Josh, I need that you know that you`re SO important to me, although I´ve many contradictions; you`re all for me. Sorry if I stain your happy moments with my fool tweets, my laaaarge messages, and all my complicated way; I know, our lifes are so diferents, but I love you, love your work, your way to express to yourself without complex; you`re my example. And this Interview is one clear show of all. She hasn`t fear to be like she`s; to express to herself; talks bout the Life, to confide in GOD and say it.And now, I´ve learned my lesson; if you wanna be understanded, you must believe in the others, you must to have a little faith in the peoples, no matter who they are,no matter who you`re; some peoples could to give you a good and happy surprise. Perhaps, peoples must to change the mind, and open the heart not to recive; open to give, without expectations, only with the proposse of give the things that other need of you. Culture Club says a good phrase that define all:”…This boy loves without a reason …” cause no matter the reason; the important is the love that you can to give;and it`s evident in the person of Sherri!!!!

Hi, Josh!!!
I watched it with many emotion because Sherri Shepherd is a wonderful woman, she puts on us a great teaching with her experience.

Josh:
Great Interview! I really like it. Sherri shows us the way to live. we must to hear when there are persons with the voice of the experience. She talks with true convictions and it’s amazing!
Her life is an example for all, and never merely exploratory in their profession. She grew and grew rich by leaving a message on every road I take.
really interesting is her role as writer of the book, translate what a person feels and tell the world is remarkable. , her book about us as human beings, we ties these beyond any dispute. it proposes a positive outlook on life, makes us able to dream. Sherri transcends her work and assured that her message is as intense as her own life.
Love the interview Josh!!! congrats, you’re the best!
