One of the few shows that is considered truly synonymous with the 80′s and early 90′s is the ever-loved and frequently quoted Saved by the Bell. The teen sitcom followed the exploits of six students and their principal at Bayside High School, and ran between 1989 and 1993. The show’s popularity allowed for two spin-off series: Saved by the Bell: The College Years, which followed several of the original characters’ college experiences and Saved by the Bell: The New Class, which followed a new group of students at Bayside High School. The series also spawned two TV movies and rumors are flying that Universal is currently planning a Saved By the Bell movie about the show.

American Idol alum Jon Peter Lewis (a.k.a. JPL) is best known for finishing in the top ten of Season 3, which included instant stars like Diana DeGarmo, Jennifer Hudson, and Fantasia Barrino. While other Idols immediately jumped at any record deal that came along, Lewis decided to take a step back and figure out who he wanted to be as an artist. Although you may have wondered where’s he’s been the past seven years, Lewis has had a successful career flying under the radar of mainstream music.
