At first glance, Harvey Walden can be quite intimidating. He has spent the past seven seasons as the tough-as-nails drill instructor helping overweight celebrities on Vh1’s hit reality show, Celebrity Fit Club. One-on-one, Walden is nothing like his television persona. Don’t get me wrong, what you see on Fit Club is authentic and real; however, he’s a genuinely polite and very charming person to be around.
Walden proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for twenty-three years and retired from active duty in June, 2007, with the rank of First Sergeant. He is a well-trained marksman who shoots with expert qualifications and has three black belts for various forms of martial arts. To top it all off, Walden also found time to play semi-pro American football (London’s Mets) in Europe for 3 years while serving in the military and working on Fat Club, the U.K. version of Celebrity Fit Club.
In part one of my interview, you will see a different side of Walden. He shares an amazing story about growing up with his grandfather and how those influences kept him grounded and alive while fighting in Iraq. Walden holds nothing back and shares the source of his determination and strength through the painful experiences that he has lived through. Part one also includes some of your questions and is a must see for any woman who is trying to figure out her body. AND for those of you who were wondering if Walden has any food guilty pleasures…HE DOES!
Part two* of my interview with Walden is definitely going to be controversial. My questions focus on Celebrity Fit Club, and we do tackle Dustin Diamond (“Screech” from Saved by the Bell) and his mind blowing appearance on the show. In the 2007 season of Fit Club, Diamond refused to follow the diet and exercise plans and challenged Walden to a “physical combat.” Diamond also threatened the host of the show and continuously picked on American Idol’s Kimberley Locke. As expected, Walden still has a lot to say about Diamond and gives withjosh an exclusive about Vh1’s seventh season which starts February 8, 2010! Bobby Brown, Kevin Federline and Shar Jackson are just some of the names Walden has to whip up in shape this year.
*Interview includes strong language

Great interview Josh, it was very entertaining to watch! It showed a side of Harvey that is rarely seen by the public. When you first meet Harvey, it’s hard not to feel intimidated. I met him about a year and a half ago and was surprised by how nice a guy he truly was.
I look forward to seeing your boot camp video. :)

Hi:
I Adorate the 2 parts!!! it`s good cause it can be funny, interesant and emotive too. Respect to the army-life i saw that he was a bit blue, pehaps cause it`s a hard experience; i know, it`s a difficult theme for the discussion, especially cause all peoples have differents point of view respect the army, and the life in it. I saw that he gain take the just and good of this experience into the army, and i suposse that it`s the real important. In personal, well, i feel that his words respect the horrible experience of lose to 1 person who you love has truth, cause it`s difficult to forget. I know some people who went through similar experiences and this was a very big traumatic experience; When a person can change these bad experiences and turn them into something positive is important. I feel that this is the best way to honor those who lost.
Particularly I always love everything about the military (I think it must have a familiar tinge in some respects) loves airplanes, military uniforms and military parades, dreamed of going to the army, but then I regretted it, heh!, Plus in Argentina, as elsewhere in Latin America, is a lingering terror of the military action, this institution has always had very closed codes, and still live tiene.Nosotros something tragic and difficult to close a wound that was the Falklands War against the English (as you had the Vietnam War). Here we lost youth who went to war unprepared, handled by a military leadership that is obsessed with an absurd war: Many of the survivors could not stand the tension and survival guilt and committed suicide, hence, have the courage to bring new meaning to experience and move forward is critical and heroic.
